Oklahoma has long been interrelated with Bingo. This is because the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for many years. Guests from all of the surrounding states pile in automobiles and travel to Oklahoma to play Bingo over the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a benchmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. Since that instance, 23 of the 39 American Indian bands located in Oklahoma have established gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the wagering rules, and today control ten gambling halls of their own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were founded. computerized games like slot machine games weren’t permitted, on the grounds that they’re thought to lead to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law has altered to allow for massive Amerindian wagering casinos. You will now find Amerindian gambling halls with slots, video poker and 21 tables. No one can say with what having other games in the bingo houses will do for the popularity of bingo.
